ILLUMINE is composed of the Institut Mines-Telecom, University Paris 6, University of La Rochelle and five Korean major research institutes: KAIST, ETRI, HUFS, Sejong University and Kwangwoon University. Developed around a multidisciplinary team, the laboratory uses advanced skills in software and services, Internet of People, Things and Services (IoPTS) and social media systems. This initiative allows French and Korean experts to join forces to develop a common line of research, in particular by facilitating the exchange of researchers and PhD students. This partnership also fosters the consolidation of joint actions in standardization at oneM2M2, ITU-T and IETF.

This Korean-French Laboratory has been inaugurated in June 2013 under the auspices of Jérôme Pasquier, Ambassador of France in Korea, and David Sadek, Director for Research at Institut Mines-Telecom. It is under the co-direction of IlYoung Chong and Noel Crespi.
